CLASS 2nd Edition Observer Certification Training

Develop-approved clock hours: 18
Location and delivery: in person
Cost: $600 | $500 for Parent Aware coaches
Who should sign up: Parent Aware participants
Prerequisites: none

Learn how to become a reliable observer from certified affiliate CLASS trainers. As a Parent Aware partner, we train people to use the Infant, Toddler, Pre-K, and K-3 versions of the CLASS (2nd edition, unless otherwise noted) to build capacity for CLASS observations and coaching.

  • Receive comprehensive instruction about the CLASS tool.
  • Score video segments in preparation for the online reliability testing.
  • Participants must pass the Teachstone online test to become a reliable CLASS observer. The test takes about 8 hours to complete.
  • Those interested in training others to become reliable observers must attend a Teachstone Train-the-Trainer course.

This is a three-day course, and you must attend all three days to complete the course. Do you supervise staff who will be learning to use the CLASS? Read our tips for Supporting CLASS Observation Training Attendees, and help your staff members get the most out of this course.
