Embedding Reflective Practice in Early Childhood Programs is designed for leaders and professionals who work in early childhood settings. Research shows that building a culture of reflective practice has several benefits for early childhood programs:

  • Better personnel retention (Clouder, 2000; Horton-Deutsch & Sherwood, 2017)
  • Improved relationships with families and children (Child Care State Capacity Building Center, 2018)
  • Staff increase their emotional awareness, perspective-taking, problem-solving, and critical thinking (Stone & Sturtz, 2022)

    2. Improved knowledge of how to embed reflection in their daily work
    3. More methods for sharing information about reflective practice with colleagues
