Recent staff accomplishments

Curious about what CEED staff work on when they aren’t developing tip sheets for early educators; creating online courses on early math skills; or welcoming Minnesota’s trainers, coaches, and course writers to a weekend symposium? Here are a few of our team’s recent accomplishments!

The Department of Children, Youth, and Families tapped CEED to develop four introductory courses for coaches who support staff in Minnesota’s early childhood mixed delivery system.

TARSS Curriculum Specialist Ashley Bonsen completed a project management certificate through the University of Minnesota’s College of Continuing and Professional Studies.

TARSS Project Manager Tamara Masters, PhD, and Curriculum Specialist Ashley Bonsen co-trained a session at the 2026 Minnesota Association for the Education of Young Children (MnAEYC) Annual Conference. Entitled “Engaging adult learners through compassionate, culturally responsive practices,” their session was warmly received.

At the CLASS™ Interact conference in Chicago, RBPD Program Specialist Emily Beckstrom, Course Writer Specialist and CLASS Observer Molly Hughes, and Program Quality Manager Margarita Milenova presented “Whose classroom is it?” Their presentation focused on strategies for strengthening teacher-child interactions and elevating classroom environments.

Infant Mental Health-Informed Reflective Supervision/Consultation is a cohort-based professional development course for child welfare professionals working with children in, or at risk of, out-of-home placement. CEED Associate Director Mary Harrison, PhD, leads the program in partnership with the Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare. The second cohort of learners recently completed Tier I of the course and became the first cohort to complete Tier II. Tier III begins in the fall.
