Call for applicants to revise Adult Learning Modules and Course Writer courses

The TARSS team is hiring two Course Writers to revise and update the following Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF)-owned courses:

You must be an approved Course Writer to be considered for either of these opportunities. Please note that revising the Adult Learning Modules and revising the Course Writer courses are two separate jobs, and we will be hiring one Course Writer for each job. If you would like to be considered for both opportunities, you only need to apply once.

The scope of this work will include revising existing course content and resources, presentation slides, participant guides, and facilitator guides for in-person or virtual delivery. The contractor will be provided with all existing course materials as well as Trainer and Trainer Evaluation Tool (TTET) data for the past two years, revision notes, and a timeline for completion with specific and measurable goals.

Applications will be accepted from Wednesday, August 21, 2024 – Tuesday, September 3, 2024 @ 5:00 PM CST (late applications will not be considered).

Job description: revisions to Adult Learning Modules 1 and 2

  • Develop I.D. 171570 Adult Learning Module 1: Delivery Skills (6 hours)
  • Develop I.D. 171572 Adult Learning Module 2: Design Skills (6 hours)

Work will occur between October 1, 2024, and January 31, 2025. The duties and deliverables associated with this service include:

  • Meet (via Zoom) with the TARSS team at least twice per month between October 1, 2024, and January 31, 2025. Provide status updates, as requested, between meetings.
  • Drafts of work will be shared and reviewed by TARSS staff throughout the process.
  • Communicate needs for support with the TARSS Project Manager.
  • Review training participant feedback provided over the last two years on the Trainer and Training Evaluation Tool (TTET) and use information to update and improve the course content and instructional design.
  • Incorporate the Universal Multiple Cultural Instructional Design Framework for content development and delivery strategies. Balance the lecture content, participant activities, and skill assessment in each course.
  • Provide technical writing revision to all course resources, hyperlinks, formatting, and alignment of content between Adult Learning Modules.
  • Update course branding and template along with facilitator and participant guides and PowerPoint decks.
  • Provide TARSS team with review copies of completely revised courses, facilitator guides, participant guides (with copyright permission documentation if needed), and PowerPoint decks approximately two (2) weeks before the end date of the contract.
  • Finalize all materials by January 31, 2025.

The total payment for completion of Adult Learning Module 1 and Adult Learning Module 2 is $4,500.
